Family & Pets: I've been married for 34 years and we have three grown children (Their vacant museum bedrooms still get me!) Cody, 31, Madison, 26, and Ryder 23. Cody is local but the girls live together in southern California. But we are so close and enjoy incredible family time! (they are coming back East in October for New England fall fun AND to make me get out all the Halloween decorations that have been asleep in the attic for a few years now. We have two eleven year old kitties and one 18 month old labradoodle who continue to provide most of our family Snapchat content.
When You’re Not at School What Do You Like to Do?
I love to be outdoors - walking my pup, hiking, running, kayaking. It balances out my time in the chair writing!
If You Weren’t in Your Current Position, What Would You Be Doing?
I would be a full-time novelist. (Currently working on my third novel.)
Wish for this upcoming year?
My wish is that our little kiddos have fun while gaining new skills, that we can help them understand how important listening is and following directions, that our greatest thrill is when they succeed and are empowered by that!
What was your last vacation and what made it great?
We took our traditional two-week Nantucket vacation this summer and the "kids" got to be there for 11 days of it, LUCKY ME! That's all we need, THEM, to make it great. And miraculously during this wet summer we scored sunshine every single day. AND solid waves! (My youngest surfed competitively for UC Berkeley and both daughters surf often in So Cal.)
What is something interesting about yourself?
My first novel, We'll Always Have Nantucket, was published in July of 2022.
My second, That Nantucket Summer, came out July 2023. I've had book signings locally for both novels and at Mitchell's Book Corner in Nantucket - between Elin Hilderbrand and Nathaniel Philbrick - in good company! Currently working on my third.
